Lexington to celebrate grand reopening of renovated Dunbar Community Center
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington city leaders will celebrate the reopening of a newly renovated Dunbar Community Center on Monday afternoon.
Mayor Linda Gorton, along with council members and city staff, will host a grand reopening at 4:30 p.m. at the Dunbar Community Center.
The event will include a press conference, tours of the renovated building, community activities and refreshments.
Alumni of the historic Dunbar High School, as well as current and former Parks and Recreation employees, are invited to attend.
City officials say the celebration will also be live streamed online, allowing residents who cannot attend in person to take part in the reopening.
The renovated space is expected to serve as a hub for community programs, gatherings and events in the heart of Lexington.
