New “Friends of Agriculture” license plate now available to Kentucky drivers

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky drivers now have a new way to support agriculture across the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture says the new “Friends of Agriculture” specialty license plate is now available for all vehicles statewide.

Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell says proceeds from the plate will go toward the state’s Ag Tag Fund, which supports Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA and other agricultural programs.

According to the department, the plate features a farmland-themed design created with input from Kentucky high school students. Each plate includes a $10 fee that goes directly toward supporting the future of agriculture in the state.

Officials say the “Friends of Agriculture” plate can be purchased at county clerk offices or through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
