Man facing theft charges in Danville
DANVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man is facing multiple charges after Danville police say buildings and dorms were unlawfully entered and a vehicle was stolen during an investigation on the Centre College campus.
According to the Danville Police Department, officers were called Friday night to investigate suspicious activity on campus. Police say officers worked alongside Centre College Public Safety and determined that someone had entered several buildings and residence halls without permission and taken a vehicle.
Investigators later identified 24-year-old Robert Baker as the suspect. Police say Baker was located and arrested without incident.
He is charged with second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of an automobile valued at more than $10,000 but less than $1 million.
Officials say the allegedly stolen vehicle has since been recovered and returned to its owner. Baker is currently being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
