Kentucky State Police Seeking Owner of Recovered Shotgun

PINEVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Kentucky State Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the rightful owner of a firearm recovered during an investigation in Bell County.

KSP said troopers responded to a complaint in November 2014 in Pineville, which resulted in a lost/found case being opened. During the investigation, a shotgun was discovered and taken into custody.

The firearm is described as:

  • Westerfield Company make

  • 12-gauge pump action

  • Model M550A

  • Serial number unknown

Police said the rightful owner of the firearm is currently unknown. The item will be posted and held for 30 days while officials attempt to locate the legal owner.

Anyone who believes the firearm may belong to them is asked to contact Kentucky State Police and be prepared to provide proof of ownership.

Officials are encouraging the public to share the information to help locate the rightful owner.
