UK Police Department Takes Top Spot at 2026 Lexington Polar Plunge
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The University of Kentucky Police Department was among the agencies participating in the 2026 Lexington Polar Plunge, an annual event benefiting Special Olympics Kentucky athletes.
UKPD placed first in the public safety division, raising $2,733 to support Special Olympics programs and athletes across the state.
Department officials thanked everyone who donated and showed support, saying the event was an honor to be part of and a meaningful way to give back to the community.
The Lexington Polar Plunge raises thousands of dollars each year to benefit athletes with intellectual disabilities through training, competition, and year-round programming.
