Kentucky Hockey set to host Cincinnati for Senior Night on Friday; puck drops at midnight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky Club Hockey will close out its home schedule Friday night with its final game of the season, hosting Cincinnati for Senior Night.
The puck drops at 11:59 p.m. at the Lexington Ice Center.
This was the program’s first season competing in Division I of the American Collegiate Hockey Association after making the jump from Division II. Kentucky enters the weekend ranked No. 24 nationally..
While the team does not compete at the NCAA level, it has consistently drawn strong crowds, creating a lively atmosphere that rivals many varsity programs.
Students and fans regularly pack the arena, making late-night hockey a staple of the campus sports scene.
“That’s one of the seven things a student needs to do as a freshman at UK, is come to a UK hockey game,” said Head Coach Tim Pergram.
Coaches and players advise fans to arrive early for the expected sellout.
