3 people, dog, displaced after Lexington house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Three people and a dog are displaced after their Lexington house caught fire Wednesday morning.

According to Battalion Chief Derek Roberts, crews were sent just after 11:45 a.m. to a reported house fire in the 100 block of Winston Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the rear of the home. Crews located a fire in a back bedroom and were able to quickly put it out before it spread to other parts of the house.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist those who are displaced.

A fire investigator remains on scene working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
