Registration is open for Give 8/28 Lex 2026

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Registration is now open for “Give 8/28 Lex 2026,” a local giving day aimed at supporting Black-serving nonprofits across Fayette County.

Organizers say the event, hosted by the Blue Grass Community Foundation in partnership with the Lexington Black Prosperity Initiative, is set for August 28. The campaign aligns with Black Philanthropy Month and the national Give 8/28 movement, which highlights organizations serving Black communities.

Last year’s giving day raised more than $230,000 for 40 nonprofits throughout Fayette County. Organizers say matching funds and special prizes helped increase the overall impact for participating groups.

Eligible nonprofits can begin registering starting February 17 through the Blue Grass Community Foundation’s website. Organizers say the goal is to continue building momentum and expand support for organizations making a difference locally.
