Three people killed in Leslie County house fire, state police say

LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Officials in Leslie County continue to investigate a deadly house fire that claimed the lives of three people Friday night in the Hyden community.

According to Kentucky State Police, the fire happened at a home along Highway 421, also known as Main Street in Hyden.

Troopers say the victims have been identified as 56-year-old Lisa Marcum, 50-year-old Jadeana Begley, and 84-year-old June Nantz. Investigators say their bodies were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, where autopsies will be performed.

Authorities say foul play is not suspected at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
