Fetal homicide suspect awaiting extradition
BELL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man accused of attacking a pregnant woman and causing the death of her unborn child in Bell County is now awaiting extradition back to southern Kentucky following a grand jury indictment.
According to the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, a grand jury recently indicted 35-year-old Taylor DeHart on fetal homicide charges.
Investigators allege DeHart assaulted a pregnant woman, striking her in the stomach, which officials say led to the death of her unborn baby.
Authorities say DeHart was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. Officials say he is now awaiting extradition back to Kentucky to face the charges.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details about court dates have been released.
