Two Shot During Party at Anderson County Airbnb

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Two people were injured in a shooting during a large party early Saturday morning at an Airbnb in Anderson County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers said they received a report of shots fired on Lover’s Leap Road just before 1:30 a.m. Investigators determined a party involving approximately 50 to 75 people, many identified as Kentucky State University students, was taking place when a fight broke out, leading to gunfire.

According to our ABC affiliate WHAS-11, police said Darris Ivy, 19, of Illinois, and Kamora Laye, 20, of Louisville, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives interviewed multiple people at the scene, but no suspect was identified, police said, citing a lack of cooperation from witnesses.

Saturday afternoon, a spokesperson for Kentucky State University said in an email to students and staff that the university was aware both students and non-students were reportedly present.

“While this incident did not occur on university property, we recognize that events like this can have an impact on our campus community,” the statement said. “Our thoughts are with those who were injured, and we are keeping them in our prayers during their recovery.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
