No. 25 Kentucky falls 92-83 to No. 14 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fl. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – No. 25 Kentucky saw its three-game winning streak snapped Saturday afternoon with a 92-83 loss to No. 14 Florida. The Wildcats never led.

Turnovers proved costly early. The Gators built a 32-17 lead with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half, and 16 of Florida’s first 32 points came off Kentucky miscues. Florida finished the game with 25 points off 14 Kentucky turnovers.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures. Denzel Aberdeen led Kentucky with 19 points against his former team. Collin Chandler added 18 points, fighting to keep his team in the mix with five clutch three-pointers (5-7). Otega Oweh scored 13 points, ending his five-game streak of 20-plus point performances. Malachi Moreno also contributed a double-double, 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Brandon Garrison fouled out with zero points, three rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes of action.

Kentucky moves to 8-4 in the SEC, and returns home to host Georgia at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17.
