Maryland man accused of kidnapping Rockcastle County teen pleads not guilty

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Maryland man accused of kidnapping a Rockcastle County teenager appeared in court Friday morning for arraignment.
According to court proceedings, Christian Delgado appeared via Zoom in Rockcastle County court. Delgado did not speak during the hearing, and his attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
The judge scheduled a pretrial hearing for May 8 at 10 a.m. Delgado’s attorney requested a May date, telling the court he needed additional time to assess federal charges connected to the case.
As previously reported, Delgado faces multiple charges, including kidnapping and rape, after investigators say he allegedly took a 13-year-old girl from Rockcastle County to Maryland. Officials say the victim was located during his arrest.
The case remains ongoing.

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Maryland man accused of kidnapping a Rockcastle County teenager is scheduled to return to court Friday for an arraignment, according to court records.
Investigators say Christian Delgado, 37, was brought back to Kentucky after being arrested in late December. Authorities allege he took a 13-year-old girl from Rockcastle County to a home in Maryland, where officers later located the victim during his arrest.
Court and jail records show Delgado was initially charged with kidnapping and unlawful transaction with a minor. Weeks later, additional charges — including rape — were filed.
According to the jail website, Delgado was moved last week from the Rockcastle County Detention Center to the Laurel County Detention Center as a federal prisoner.
Officials have not released additional details about the case, and the investigation remains active.
