FCPS cancels Monday classes, announces two-hour delay for Tuesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Fayette County Public Schools has canceled classes for Monday, Feb. 9, citing concerns about road conditions for bus routes.
District officials say afternoon and evening activities may still take place as scheduled.
Classes will resume Tuesday, Feb. 10, with a two-hour delay for students in grades K–12. All preschool sessions scheduled for Tuesday are canceled. Families are encouraged to visit FCPS.net/weather for full details on how a two-hour delay affects schedules and transportation.
The district says it has now used four nontraditional instruction (NTI) days from Jan. 26 through Jan. 29. Monday’s cancellation marks the 10th snow day of the 2025–26 school year, following closures on Dec. 2, Dec. 12, Dec. 15, Jan. 30, Feb. 2–6, and Feb. 9.
So far, March 20 is the only confirmed make-up day for students. Additional potential make-up dates are outlined in the district’s instructional calendar.
