Partial roof collapse damages building during fire on Natural Bridge Road in Powell County

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A building was damaged after a partial roof collapse during a fire Thursday along Natural Bridge Road, according to the Stanton Fire Department.

Fire crews say the blaze broke out in a building along the roadway and threatened nearby structures. Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to the general store next door.

During the response, officials say a section of the roof collapsed, prompting crews to bring in an excavator to help reach remaining hotspots and fully extinguish the fire.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire. No injuries have been reported.
