LPD: Police arrest man after “road rage shooting incident”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to police, 19-year-old Trey Whitaker-Blackburn is charged with wanton endangerment after they say he fired multiple shots at two people sitting inside of a passenger vehicle.

It happened Thursday afternoon in the outbound lanes of Tates Creek Road and Armstrong Mill Road.

Police say officers were dispatched to Tates Creek Road and Armstrong Mill Road after a witness reported that Whitaker-Blackburn was driving a black SUV.

They say the witness told officers that Whitaker-Blackburn fired approximately six shots from a handgun at two people sitting inside of a passenger vehicle.

According to court documents, witnesses say the two people inside the vehicle threw a can of soda at Whitaker-Blackburn’s SUV before he fired the shots.

They say officers later found Whitaker-Blackburn inside of his SUV on Laredo Drive near Redding Road.

He is set to appear in court today.
