Arrest made in 2022 overdose death of Lexington toddler

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — An arrest has been made in the long-running investigation into the death of 18-month-old Cho’zyn Wilson.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were first called to a home on August 17, 2022, after a report of an unresponsive toddler. Cho’zyn was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office later identified the child and determined through an autopsy that Cho’zyn died from an accidental overdose. Investigators ultimately ruled the death a homicide.

Detectives with the department’s Crimes Against Children Unit continued working the case over the past several years, following up on new evidence and information as it became available.

Police say that work led to the arrest of 26-year-old Kadarrius Warren on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. With help from the department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center, Warren was located and taken into custody. He is now charged with murder in connection to Cho’zyn’s death and is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing.
