Woman dies after home fully engulfed in flames in Harlan County
HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A woman has died following a devastating house fire in eastern Kentucky, and state police are now working to determine what caused it.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a home on Shell Hollow Road in the Eastbrook community just before 9:30 Monday night.
When crews arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames.
After firefighters were able to put the fire out, investigators found 62-year-old Judy Holden near the front entrance of the home. They say she died at the scene.
State police say there are no signs of foul play at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled in Frankfort as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials have not yet released what may have caused the fire.
