Funeral services set for Lexington woman found dead in snow after winter storm

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Visitation and funeral services are being held Tuesday for a Lexington woman who died after being found outside in the snow days after January’s powerful winter storm moved through the region.

According to her obituary, visitation for 32-year-old Jordyn Daws will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Somerset Undertaking and Crematory in Pulaski County. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

As previously reported, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed Daws died last Wednesday from hypothermia. Her body was discovered in the front yard of a home on Wargrave Walk, off Polo Club Boulevard in Lexington.

Governor Andy Beshear has said at least 16 people across Kentucky have now died in connection with the severe winter storm and dangerously cold temperatures that followed.

State and local officials continue urging residents to take cold weather seriously, check on neighbors and loved ones, and seek warming shelters when temperatures drop to dangerous levels.  description:
