Man accused in Lexington woman’s killing bound over to grand jury

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man accused of killing a 29-year-old woman in Lexington is now one step closer to facing formal charges after a judge ordered his case to be sent to a grand jury.

Court records show 43-year-old Roberto Buffill appeared in court earlier Monday for a preliminary hearing. Following that hearing, the case was bound over to the grand jury for further review.

Officials say Buffill’s bond remains set at $1 million.

As previously reported, Buffill was arrested in connection with the death of Anisley Lantaron last month. According to the arrest citation, investigators say Buffill is the father of Lantaron’s child.

The citation also states that during an interview with police, Buffill admitted to assault, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

No timeline has been announced for when the grand jury will take up the case.
