Amateur Radio Operators Prepare For Disaster

Amateur radio may seem like just a hobby, but today some ham enthusiasts were not only educating people, but showing them how their pastime can keep them safe in an emergency.

The Anderson County Amateur Radio Club gathered along with thousands of others for a nationwide demonstration.

The purpose was to show how useful low powered radios are during natural disasters like the tornado in west liberty when TVs and cell phones were useless.

You can check out amateur radio for yourself tomorrow at anderson county park.
