FCPS announces weather schedule changes for rest of the week
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — With winter weather still impacting road conditions across central Kentucky, Fayette County Public Schools has announced several changes to classes and activities for the remainder of the week.
According to the district, all afternoon and evening activities scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Jan. 29, FCPS will shift to a nontraditional instruction (NTI) day, meaning students will learn remotely. All after-school and evening activities on Thursday are also canceled.
Friday, Jan. 30, will be a full snow day with no classes, and once again, all afternoon and evening activities are canceled.
District leaders say the decisions are being made out of an abundance of caution as crews continue working to improve road conditions following the recent snow and ice.
Families are encouraged to continue monitoring FCPS communication channels for any additional updates.
