Fayette County Clerk’s Office announces early closures due to Main Street water line break

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Fayette County Clerk’s Office has announced schedule changes this week due to a water line break on Main Street.

According to the office, the clerk’s office will close early at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026.

The office will then operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, and will close at 3:30 p.m. that day.

Officials say the sidewalk on Main Street in front of 162 East Main Street will be closed while crews work to repair the water line. The clerk’s office says the safety of customers and staff is its top priority.
