Keurig recalls McCafé decaf K-Cups due to possible caffeine content

(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Food and Drug Administration says Keurig is recalling about 1,000 cartons of K-Cups labeled as McCafé Premium Roast Decaf Coffee after discovering the pods may contain caffeine.

According to the FDA, the recalled products are sold in cartons containing 84 K-Cups. The affected cartons have a best-by date of November 17 of this year.

The recall was issued out of concern that consumers expecting decaffeinated coffee may instead be exposed to caffeine.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. Consumers who purchased the affected products are encouraged to stop using them and follow Keurig’s instructions for returns or refunds.

Additional information about the recall is available through the FDA and Keurig.
