Here’s an update for customers of Rumpke:
Rumpke Waste & Recycling says crews will resume trash and recycling service Tuesday, Jan. 27, for most of central and eastern Kentucky as road conditions begin to improve.
According to the company, Tuesday’s service will focus on picking up customers who normally have Monday collection. However, Rumpke says conditions will still not allow service in Magoffin, Knott, Leslie and Perry counties.
“It’s our hope that we can complete our Monday routes; however, if road conditions prevent service, we will collect additional material on Monday, Feb. 2,” said Adam Rumpke, Region Vice President.
Rumpke is operating on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week, meaning:
• Monday customers will be serviced Tuesday
• Tuesday customers on Wednesday
• Wednesday customers on Thursday
• Thursday customers on Friday
• Friday customers on Saturday
Customers are asked to place trash and recycling at the curb the night before their scheduled pickup — even those who typically have alley service — and to make sure carts are clear of snow and easy for crews to reach.
Most Rumpke facilities are expected to reopen Tuesday, including the Montgomery County Landfill, which will open at 8 a.m. However, transfer stations in Magoffin, Knott and Leslie counties will remain closed.
