Lexington fire department remembers fallen firefighter

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  The Lexington Fire Department is remembering one of its own killed in the line of duty 22 years ago.

Chuck Williams died after falling through the floor of a home and into the basement in 1997.

He suffocated from smoke inhalation.

The fire department says William’s death led to many changes in firefighter safety including making sure every firefighter has a radio.
