TN man gets 25-year sentence for seeking sex with minor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Tennessee arrested for sex crimes was sentenced in Kentucky Wednesday.

According to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office, 47-year-old Billie Gene Spears, of Jacksboro, Tennessee, was arrested in Frankfort in October 2017 after seeking sex with a minor.

Officials say Spears was also sending sexually explicit text messages and emails to someone he thought was a minor. It turned out to be cyber investigators.

Spears was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
