UK women fall at Tennessee

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)  The Kentucky women traveled to Knoxville on Thursday night to take on the Lady Vols, a place that has historically been unkind to the Wildcats. Entering the game, UK was just 4–28 all-time on Rocky Top. As expected, this matchup was anything but easy, turning into a gritty, hard-fought battle.

Tennessee led 11–7 after the first quarter and carried a 29–22 advantage into halftime. Kentucky responded with a strong 14–5 run to pull within one, trailing 41–40 heading into the fourth quarter. Despite committing a season-high 21 turnovers, the Wildcats had two chances late in the final period to tie or win the game but were unable to get a shot off. Tennessee ultimately held on for a narrow 60–58 victory.

Kentucky returns home next, hosting Georgia on Sunday at noon.
