Mayor plans winter weather briefing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton will hold a winter weather briefing later Thursday as colder conditions move into central Kentucky.

According to the city, Mayor Gorton will be joined by leaders from Lexington Emergency Management and Lexington Public Works to discuss how the city is preparing for the forecasted weather.

The briefing is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Lexington Government Center on East Main Street.

City officials are expected to outline plans related to road treatment, public safety, and city services as temperatures drop and winter weather approaches. The city has not yet released additional details on what impacts residents should expect.
