Teen dies in accident in Shelby County

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Shelby County teen is dead following an accident Thursday night.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Blake Palmer was driving on Hemp Ridge Road when his car went off the road and hit a fence.

The sheriff says the cause of the crash is under investigation.

They are not sure if wet roads were a factor in the accident.

According to his obituary, Blake was a junior at Shelby County High School and played on the Shelby County Rocket Baseball Team.
