Pike County man indicted on arson, attempted murder charges, Attorney General says

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Pike County man is facing several charges, including felony arson and attempted murder.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, a Pike County grand jury indicted Marty Hurley, 50, on one count of first-degree arson, three counts of attempted murder, and three counts of kidnapping involving adult victims.

The indictment alleges that on May 30, 2025, Hurley forced two women and a man into a trailer in Pike County at gunpoint. Prosecutors say Hurley then set the trailer on fire while all three victims were still inside.

According to the release, one of the victims suffered injuries, including severe smoke inhalation.
