Donate Life Kentucky Trust reports a strong donor registration year for 2025

KENTUCKY (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Donate Life Kentucky Trust is reporting one of the strongest years in its history for donor registration and support for families across the commonwealth.

The nonprofit says more than 75,000 Kentuckians joined the state’s organ, eye, and tissue donor registry in 2025. During the same year, the organization raised more than $1.7 million to support transplant patients and donor families statewide.

Donate Life Kentucky Trust says more than 1,000 Kentuckians are currently waiting for a life-saving transplant.

According to the organization, the funds raised helped provide critical assistance to families and patients, including help with travel, medication costs, rent and utilities. The nonprofit also provided funeral and memorial support for donor families.

In addition, Donate Life Kentucky Trust awarded scholarships to Kentucky students and says it plans to expand education efforts and access to accurate donation information in 2026.
