One person killed in multi-family structure fire in Versailles

VERSAILLES, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — One person has died following a multi-family residential structure fire in Versailles, according to the Versailles Fire Department.

Fire crews were sent Tuesday morning to a structure fire on Macey Avenue. Officials say first-arriving units encountered a fully involved, three-story building with fire exposure to a nearby structure.

The Versailles Fire Department confirmed one fatality. The victim’s identity has not yet been released and is pending identification by the Woodford County Coroner’s Office. The Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office has been notified, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Officials say displaced residents are receiving assistance from the Woodford County Foundation and the American Red Cross Bluegrass Chapter.
