Lexington building catches fire again, first fire ruled as arson

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) —  A Lexington building that was recently the scene of an arson went up in flames again Thursday morning.

The building was on Brentwood Court off Nandino Boulevard and caught fire around 7:30 in the morning.

Lexington Fire says that’s the second time in less than two months.

We told you back in late December the building that was H & H Racing back then caught fire and investigators quickly ruled it as arson.

No one’s been arrested for the crime.

“We have no idea who would try to do something like this to Eric or myself,” says co-owner of the motorcycle repair shop, Michelle. “Because Eric is really loved by a lot of people as well as I am.”>

She says if anybody hears anything about the incident to please let them know and contact police.

Michelle says at the time of the December fire, the company was in the process of moving out.

She says they had several things still in the building that were completely damaged,

“We had a lot of engines, tools, bike parts,” says Michelle. “I had two personal motorcycles that were in there.”

Firefighters say no one was hurt in the Thursday fire.

They say the electricity had just been turned back on a few days ago.

Michelle says Thursday morning they had some calls the building had caught fire again and TV stations were reporting it was their business.

“We have currently relocated so it is not at H & H Racing,” she says. “We are just fine.”

Michelle says because of the arson investigation after the first fire they weren’t able to get into the building to remove the rest of their things.

She says the landlord made them pay another month’s rent before getting the rest so everything wasn’t out of the building until the end of January.

But she says she feels so lucky to have been out before the second fire broke.

“Eric and I are fine, just fine. Thank God God was looking out and nobody got hurt,
says Michele. “We want everybody to know it’s not us and everything is okay.”

No word on the cause of fire at this time.
