Status hearing set for man accused of killing former lawmaker’s daughter
MADISON COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The man accused of killing the daughter of a former state lawmaker during a 2022 home invasion in Richmond is scheduled to appear in court this week.
Shannon Gilday is charged in the death of Jordan Morgan, the daughter of former state lawmaker Wesley Morgan. Prosecutors allege Gilday killed Morgan during a violent home invasion in Madison County.
According to court officials, Gilday is set for a status hearing on Tuesday. During that hearing, the presiding judge is expected to issue a significant ruling regarding the defense’s motion requesting a change of venue.
Court records also show a trial management conference is scheduled for March 20.
If no delays occur, jury selection and the trial are expected to begin on May 1.
