Police search for suspect in Georgetown robberies

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Police in Georgetown are asking for the public’s help as they search for a robbery suspect accused of taking money from multiple businesses.

According to Georgetown Police, the suspect first targeted the Speedway on Southgate Drive around 8:20 p.m. Thursday night. Investigators say the person allegedly scammed a store clerk and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash before driving away.

Police say the same suspect then went to the Walgreens on South Broadway a short time later. Investigators say the suspect claimed to have a weapon and ran off with cash, merchandise, and gift cards.

Officers say the suspect is believed to be associated with a blue GMC Terrain SUV.

Anyone with information that could help identify or locate the suspect is asked to contact the Georgetown Police Department.
