Dawson Springs Schools mourn student killed in hunting accident

DAWSON SPRINGS, KY — (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Dawson Springs Independent Schools is mourning the loss of a student following a tragic hunting accident.

District officials say junior Aden McKinney died early Saturday morning after being injured in a hunting accident. Additional details about the incident have not been released.

In a statement, the school district said counselors and support staff will be available for students and faculty beginning Monday and continuing as needed in the days ahead to help the school community cope with the loss.

The district also extended its condolences to McKinney’s family, friends and classmates, saying he will be remembered as a valued and cherished member of the Dawson Springs community.
