Water emergency declared in Hazard

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – The City of Hazard issued a water supply emergency Friday afternoon.

All Hazard Utilities customers are asked to conserve water.

City officials say all car washes using the Hazard Water System are temporarily closed, as well as laundry service facilities.

The City of Hazard says the cause of the water shortage is water line breaks and to a lesser degree, people leaving faucets dripping during this week’s cold snap.

The city says it has enough water for customers, but the challenge right now is getting it to them…distribution challenges while line repairs are made.

To report a leak, call 606-438-4200.
