15th victim dies in UPS fatal plane crash
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The death toll from last month’s UPS cargo plane crash in Louisville has risen to 15.
Mayor Craig Greenberg announced on Christmas Day that Alain Rodriguez Colina has died from severe injuries he suffered in the crash.
The plane went down shortly after taking off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport on Nov. 4. Three pilots on board and 11 people on the ground were killed at the time.
A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board says critical hardware that secured the aircraft’s left engine failed. The investigation remains ongoing.
