Lexington postpones Monday trash pickup due to dangerously cold weather

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The City of Lexington is delaying Monday garbage collection this week as dangerously cold temperatures move into the region.

Residents who normally receive city trash pickup on Mondays will instead have their garbage collected on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

City officials say the change is intended to protect sanitation crews working in the extreme cold and to give residents extra time to safely move their waste carts to the curb.
