Newsong Counseling – “World Wide Day of Play”

NewSong Counseling Center will be hosting our first annual World Wide Day of Play on Sunday, September 30, from 1-4 pm at Easy Walker Park. This FREE event will be held outdoors to encourage children and families to unplug for the afternoon and engage in play together, including creative play, pretend play, competitive play and play activities that increase emotional literacy. At NewSong Counseling Center, we use therapeutic play to empower children to tell their stories and recover from negative experiences and interactions that could have long-lasting effects on the child’s beliefs of self and the world. We believe that play is a natural process that builds trust, fosters learning, regulates emotions, reduces anxieties, encourages communication, and elevates self-esteem.
