High School Mock Trial

Jessamine County high school students sign up for a career pathway to take classes in as a part of high school.  Completing 4 career classes is a graduation requirement.  Students in the law pathway learn about trials in class and have the opportunity to compete a in a statewide high school mock trial tournament.  Students on the show are members of the Jessamine County mock trial team.

There are over 30 teams involved in this year’s tournament.  The first round is being held in 2 places – Lexington and Louisville.  This year’s case is a negligence civil lawsuit from a family that is suing a camp and camp counselor for allowing their son to be severely injured at their camp.
