Sheriff: Children found in “poor living conditions”

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies took a woman into custody in Laurel County after receiving a child welfare complaint.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies showed up at the Corbin Manor Apartments on Friday morning and found three small children in “very poor living conditions.”

Deputies arrested 21-year-old Jamie Zimmerman, of Corbin, saying she gave her three children, ages 18 months to 5 years-old, melatonin to make them sleep.

She is charged with three counts of wanton endangerment.
