10-year-old wins science fair by proving Tom Brady cheats
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A 10-year-old Milcreek Elementary student’s science fair project on the New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady has made national headlines.
Brady, either you love him or you hate him.
“He cheats,” says 10-year-old Ace Davis.
Well it’s obvious what category Ace falls into.
“I don’t like him because he’s a cheater that’s why,” says Ace.
In 2015 the Patriots and Brady were accused of deliberately deflating footballs to win against the Indianapolis Colts, a game they did win.
It was known as “deflategate”.
Ace made a science project to prove his cheating theory by testing, with family members, three different footballs weighing five to seven pounds.
Ace’s conclusion…
“That Tom Brady was a cheater because if the balls were five pounds it was way easier to throw the football and that’s how they got accused,” says Ace.
Ace is a quarterback himself. He plays for his school, Milcreek Elementary.
His dad, Chris Davis, helped with the project.
The idea behind it?
“He thought it would be fun for me because I don’t really like science,” says Ace.
“One way I thought about getting him involved and excited about it is you grab the one thing he is really passionate about and that’s football,” says his dad, Chris.
Ace won the science fair and now his project goes to state.
“And I’m gonna win that and get a big trophy,” says Ace.
Dad posted Ace’s project to Facebook and it blew up. It’s been viewed by millions of people.
“So it’s literally worldwide,” says Chris. “We’ve been contacted from everybody from Ellen DeGeneres to Jimmy Kimmel.”
We asked Ace how he thinks Patriots fans feel about his project.
His response: “I’m pretty sure they’re looking for me.”
The Patriots play against the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl next Sunday.
