KSU suspends classes and finals for rest of week after deadly campus shooting
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State University has suspended all classes, final exams, and campus activities for the rest of the week following Tuesday’s deadly shooting on campus.
In a statement released in response to the shooting, university officials said KSU is “deeply saddened by yesterday’s events” and will continue working closely with law enforcement as the investigation continues. The university said updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
KSU also announced that students may return home if they choose during the suspension of classes and activities.
Officials said counseling and support services are available for students, faculty, and staff affected by the incident as the campus community begins to grieve and recover.
Police have confirmed one person was killed and another remains hospitalized in critical condition following the shooting near a residence hall on campus. The suspect is in custody and has been charged.
