Two arrested after altercation in Laurel County church parking lot

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man and woman are facing assault charges after deputies found them screaming at each other in a church parking lot Wednesday morning, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the incident happened in a parking lot off Wren Road, where they arrested 35-year-old Justin Hammons and 37-year-old Ashley Mills. Investigators say both were under the influence during the altercation.

Hammons and Mills are charged with assault and alcohol intoxication in a public place. They are being held at the Laurel County Detention Center.
