Giving Tuesday kicks off with Bluegrass Gives campaign supporting 234 nonprofits

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — It’s Giving Tuesday, and Kentuckians are being encouraged to support their favorite nonprofits as part of this year’s Bluegrass Gives campaign — formerly known as the GoodGiving Challenge.

The campaign runs from 6 a.m. until midnight tonight and features 234 participating nonprofits across Central Kentucky. Organizers say there’s $800,000 in matching dollars and prizes available, helping donations go even further.

Since 2011, the annual event has helped raise more than $26 million for local charities and community organizations.
