Victim’s father indicted for threatening judge on case

GREENUP, Ky. (AP) – The father of a woman killed in an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle is accused of threatening a judge involved in the case.

Citing court records, The Daily Independent reports 41-year-old Matthew Conley was indicted on felony charges of retaliating against a participant in the legal process.

Court records show Greenup District Judge Brian McCloud was targeted by family members and supporters of 19-year-old Mattellen “Mattie” Conley unhappy with the sentences given to the two people implicated in her death. Records say her father threatened bodily harm.

James Ratliff and Kelly Dummitt negotiated plea agreements that allowed them to avoid prison, provided they abide by strict conditions. But Dummitt violated the conditions twice before she was sent to prison.

It’s unclear whether Conley has a lawyer to speak for him.
