Man arrested after police say he fled traffic stop

LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A 29-year-old man is facing charges after being arrested early Saturday morning, after allegedly fleeing from police during an attempted traffic stop, according to the London Police Department.

Officials said the incident began just after 5:15 a.m., when an officer spotted a 2014 silver Ford Fusion which appeard to be speeding. When the officer activated his lights and siren, the driver — identified as Julio Santiz — reportedly continued driving for several miles before eventually stopping on Village Wood Court.

During the attempted stop, Santiz is accused of driving erratically, repeatedly crossing the solid white line and failing to stay in his lane.

Police say Santiz was taken into custody on multiple charges and was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
