LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Laurel County woman is facing charges after deputies say she falsely reported a stabbing, triggering a large emergency response early Friday morning, according to a social media post from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff John Root said deputies, Kentucky State Police, and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County were sent to a home off Walnut Road around 1 a.m. on Nov. 21 after a 911 caller claimed someone had been stabbed. The location is about eight miles southeast of London.

According to the sheriff’s office, when first responders arrived, they interviewed two men at the home and determined no stabbing had occurred. Investigators say a woman who had already left the scene on foot was later identified as the caller.

Deputies located the woman a short time later and learned an argument had led her to call 911, the release said.

Jennifer Hollin, 43, of Gray, was arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident that generated an emergency response. The sheriff’s office says Hollin was also served with two outstanding Knox County warrants.

She was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
